It was even challenging to disable the add-on again b/c the whole thing just freezes, windows/tabs/menus become unresponsive, and every time i hit Stop Script another error pops up and causes the same pattern. Every time i hit Stop Script (or Continue) on the pop-up options, it hangs for a long while, then eventually stops, then another tab comes to the foreground immediately and produces the same script error. Literally, as soon as i hit the Enable button in Add-Ons Manager the browser is hijacked by these endless script warning pop-ups that appear page after page, & the whole browser freezes up. I also tried running Adguard without other add-ons and it still happened. If i disable just Adguard then there is no problem and FF runs fast & smooth. If the window wont close, youll need to force-quit Internet Explorer. If the window closes, Internet Explorer is now responding.
Click the X in the top-right corner of the Internet Explorer window. Older versions are having the exact same issue with Adguard. The pop-up window shows a script path but doesn't not allow me to copy the text - it ends with /lib/jquery-1.8.3.min.js:2 It causes the browser to freeze and the whole Mac becomes unusable as it hogs up all the RAM (and i have 12 GB!). Adguard 2.1.5 has been causing Unresponsive Script errors in Firefox on numerous web pages.
